Site Specific Half Hour Massage

Half hour : $45

For treating an acute muscle spasm or a specific problem area an half hour massage may be all you need. During this type of massage you may receive deeper than usual work in order to quickly resolve your issues;  it is not as relaxing as the thorough full body approach, but often very effective. This bodywork will take place on the massage table with the client undressed to his or her level of comfort (appropriate to the problem area) and fully draped with a sheet. You will want to assist the process of this intense work by drinking a lot of water after your massage and possibly by using moist heat on the area worked.

One Hour, Full-Body Massage

Per hour : $70

A full-body, therapeutic massage requires at least an hour. Most clients choose this option as it is plenty of time to to thoroughly massage the entire body with a little bit of focus on a particular problem. This type of massage takes place on the massage table with the client undressed to his or her level of comfort and fully draped with a sheet to maintain privacy at all times. A hypo-allergenic cream or oil is used to massage the neck, back, legs, feet, arms and hands. Typically, cream is not used for facial massage.

When you come in we'll discuss your goals for the massage and any medical conditions that need to be taken into consideration as well as your likes and dislikes regarding bodywork. This is YOUR time and you deserve to have the kind of massage experience you want. You can have the whole hour on your feet if you choose! After assessing your needs and preferences I'll tailor a massage just for you, using a variety of techniques from the modalities listed below.

Chair Massage

Per hour : $80

Chair massage is a popular way of relieving stress and releasing tension in your workplace or at an event. You receive your massage in a specialized ergonomic chair which I bring to your location. In addition to the usual health benefits of massage, another benefit of chair massage is that it is done over the clothing. With seated massage, you can avoid the discomfort and awkwardness that you may feel in disrobing for a traditional massage.

Chair massage is great for promoting an event, rewarding your staff or providing a little extra something at a party or shower. A chair massage is generally 15 minutes in duration, so plan on four people getting chair massage in an hour. Typically, chair massages events have a two hour minimum charge.

Deep Tissue Modality

Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.

Hot Stone Modality

Hot Stone Therapy is a style of massage where heated stones are placed at specific sites on your body to deepen relaxation and promote circulation in your muscles. Muscles that are heated with these stones release tension and stress much more deeply and quickly than with a traditional massage. The overall experience is very relaxing, nurturing, and rejuvenating.

Neuromuscular Therapy Modality

Neuromuscular therapy is a system of massage techniques that were developed in the 1930's by Dr. Stanley Lief in England. It uses a holistic approach towards healing, emphasizing and stimulating the body's natural ability to heal itself. Neuromuscular therapy also enhances the function of joints and muscles, and accelerates the overall healing process by facilitating the release of endorphins.

Pregnancy Massage Modality

Pregnancy Massage is a style of bodywork designed specifically for pregnant women. Pregnancy is a time when a woman's body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical and emotional changes. Using various techniques specially developed for the expecting mother, Pregnancy Massage helps release the pain and discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy. The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, and improved breathing and relaxation.

Reflexology Modality

Reflexology is a type of bodywork that focuses on applying pressure to the specific nerve zones in your feet. Unlike other foot massages that intend to mostly relieve tension in the feet themselves, reflexology is a far more in-depth science that aims to harmonize your entire body. According to reflexology, every part of the human body is mapped into your feet. Reflexology treatments have been found to be highly effective for conditions such as allergies, headaches, and depression.

Reiki Modality

Reiki is a Japanese form of energy work that cleanses and balances the energy system in the body. As a result, the body's natural self-healing mechanisms strengthen, helping to establish optimum health. During a session, I work directly with your energy field to remove blockages, detoxify your system, and restore your vital life force energy. Reiki utilizes a gentle laying on of hands to conduct the necessary energy force between us. The benefits of Reiki range from the release of habitual mental/emotional stress to alleviating chronic pain.

Swedish Modality

Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.

Thai Modality

Thai massage is more energizing and rigorous than most other forms of massage therapy. It's also called Thai Yoga massage, because I use my hands, knees, legs, and feet to move you into a series of yoga-like postures and stretches. My clients say Thai massage is like doing yoga without doing any of the work. No oil is applied, so you are fully dressed during the session. A single Thai massage session will help you release stress and relieve pain, and help you function more effectively at work and home.

Trigger Point Therapy Modality

Trigger Point Therapy is a style of bodywork that focuses on stimulating and releasing "trigger points" in your body. Trigger points are tender areas of tension similar to acupressure points, except they occur in the belly of the muscle rather than along the energy pathways of the body. These "knots" are built up throughout a person's life due to physical, mental, and/or emotional stress. During a session, focused pressure is applied through a variety of techniques order to release your trigger points. This process can be quite painful at times, yet the effects are lasting and profoundly transformative.
